American conductor and California native Lauren Wasynczuk leads an active international career equally at home in the concert hall, the pit, and cross-disciplinary performance contexts on both sides of the Atlantic. She has conducted ensembles including the BBC Philharmonic, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Manchester Camerata, Northern Ballet Sinfonia, Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Nashville Symphony, Wordless Music Orchestra and London Contemporary Orchestra, and has held assistantships with the BBC Philharmonic, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Psappha and Opera North as a Leverhulme Arts Scholar.

Highlights of the 2025/26 season include her Barbican debut leading the London Contemporary Orchestra alongside Korean post-rock band JAMBINAI, her Nashville Ballet debut conducting the Nashville Symphony in Paul Vasterling's Emmy Award-winning Nashville's Nutcracker, and the world premiere live-to-screen performance of Oscar-nominated Train Dreams at Hollywood's Egyptian Theatre with the Wordless Music Orchestra, featuring composer Bryce Dessner on guitar and Timo Andres on piano, presented by Netflix for awards consideration.

Lauren has served as Guest and Cover Conductor with Northern Ballet, the UK’s leading narrative ballet company, conducting full-length productions including David Nixon's The Great Gatsby and Beauty & the Beast and Cathy Marston's Jane Eyre, touring major UK venues including Leeds Grand Theatre, Sheffield Lyceum, Nottingham Theatre Royal, Sadler's Wells, Norwich Theatre Royal, Newcastle Theatre Royal, and Edinburgh Festival Theatre. In opera, she was Assistant Conductor of Opera San Luis Obispo and the Marina del Rey Summer Concert Series (Opera at the Shore).

Her work is distinguished by a deep commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration and community engagement. She has designed and led performances integrating technology, electronic sound, and immersive storytelling, and has worked with non-profit organizations including the Los Angeles Philharmonic's Youth Orchestra Los Angeles (YOLA), Young Musicians Foundation, D'Addario Foundation, Levitt Pavilion Los Angeles, Hungry for Music, and Homeboy Industries' "Music Heals" program serving formerly gang-involved and incarcerated men, women, and youth. She has also served as Artistic Director and Conductor of the Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, which was showcased at the Florence Youth Festival's 25th anniversary celebration, performing at iconic venues including the Loggia dei Lanzi.

Her artistic identity is rooted in a background as a professional saxophonist. A founding member of La'Ventus Quartet, winner of the Music Teachers National Association and American Prize in Chamber Music Performance competitions, she holds a Master of Music in Conducting with Distinction from the Royal Northern College of Music, a Master of Music in Saxophone Performance from The Hartt School, and a Bachelor of Arts in Music from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
